In my latest vlog, I explored the breathtaking landscapes of the Uyuni Salt Flats, Bolivia and San Pedro de Atacama, Chile. The adventure started in Bolivia’s capital La Paz, where I only really squeezed in Calle Jean, and the main Plaza. Then I caught an overnight bus to Uyuni, to join this 3 day tour that took us around the Uyuni Salt Flats and altiplano.
The vast expanse of the Salar de Uyuni stretched as far as the eye could see, creating an otherworldly canvas of pure white beneath the azure sky.
I saw amazing sights that I actually wasn’t expecting! Including a flamboyance of flamingoes (that is the name for a large groups of them). Also other animals like guanacos and llamas, and natural features like volcanoes and geysers. The altiplano is really an amazing place to visit. The stargazing is phenomenal due to the high altitude, and no light pollution.
It was wonderful to see the Tatio Geysers at sunrise, an awe-inspiring spectacle as steam rose from the geothermal vents, creating an ethereal atmosphere.
The journey then led me to the captivating landscapes of San Pedro de Atacama in Chile, a desert that boasts some of the most diverse and stunning scenery on the planet.
Then I had to catch another overnight bus to Valparaiso & Viña del Mar. And that is where I welcomed in the New Year 2016!
