The Gardens
La Casona de Odile is like a peaceful sanctuary in the beautiful Patagonia. The sprawling two hectares of gardens next to the river, provide a relaxing retreat for the body and soul. Rio Quemquemtreu is the name of the river and it was lovely to have some time out by its shore, listening to the water and enjoying the summer sun.
On the way there, you walk past the gorgeous lavender plantation. Not only is this a beautiful sight, but the fragrance that wafts through the air is instantly calming.

Morning Rituals
The complimentary breakfast consists of cereals, homemade jams & bread, organic milk from a local farm and freshly made coffee.
Adding to the morning charm, the resort offers yoga sessions at 9am for a small fee, in a peaceful part of the garden with the scent of lavender nearby. The sessions provide a truly revitalising experience that prepares you both mentally and physically for the day ahead. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or a curious beginner, the tailored yoga practice helps everyone find their morning zen.
Activities and Surroundings
La Casona de Odile is perfectly positioned for those eager to explore the natural wonders of El Bolsón. The town of El Bolsón, known for its artisan market and organic farms. It is just a short bike ride or a pleasant walk away. I really enjoyed the 45 min countryside walk to Heladería Humus past meadows with cows and other livestock. Even better was the delicious well deserved ice cream!

For those keen on a more leisurely day, the hostel’s surroundings offer plenty of opportunities to relax. You can find a quiet nook in the garden to read a book, join other guests in the communal kitchen to cook your meals, or simply enjoy a lazy afternoon by the on-site creek.
