CitizenM Seattle Pioneer Square is a standout choice for travellers seeking a stylish and convenient stay in the heart of Seattle. Known for its modern design that reflects the vibrancy of the surrounding area, it has compact, yet incredibly functional rooms. Our room was perfect for Kaydes and myself, providing everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
From the moment we arrived, I knew we were in for a treat. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, and our entire experience was filled with comfort and ease. By the time we checked out, I was already looking forward to returning again soon.
Outstanding Service
We had taken a red-eye flight from Hawaii, so we landed a bit bleary-eyed and more than a little exhausted. Needless to say, I was craving a bed in a big way! Unfortunately, check-in wasn’t until the early afternoon, which meant we had a few hours to kill before we could settle in.
However, when we entered the reception, I decided to ask if there was any chance of an early check-in. I spoke to a lovely lady at the front desk and explained our situation, asking if we could swap our late check-out for an early check-in instead. To my delight, she said yes! I was honestly so filled with gratitude and joy at that moment. The thought of being able to get some rest right away was such a relief. I only wish I remembered her name now! 🙈
The staff at CitizenM Seattle Pioneer Square were consistently friendly and helpful, always ready to assist us with recommendations, directions, or anything else we needed.

A View to Remember
With not a huge amount of space, the standout feature of the room at CitizenM Seattle Pioneer Square is the bed itself. In this hotel, the bed is positioned right against the window, offering a unique and cozy spot to relax. This layout was particularly perfect for us, as it allowed Kaydes to easily look out at the view of the boats and traffic outside. This layout also allowed me to create a safe nap space for Kaydes, by simply blocking her in on the other side with pillows.
The view from our room was nothing short of stunning. Overlooking the piers, we were treated to a beautiful sight every morning. Waking up to the sight of Seattle’s waterfront was a real treat. The hustle and bustle of the piers, the comings and goings of boats, and the early morning light reflecting off the water all added a unique charm to our stay.
I even took a Timelapse of part of the morning, capturing the movement and energy of the city as it woke up. It was so nice to watch the morning commuters before Kaydes woke up. There’s something magical about watching a city come to life, and it was the perfect way to start our day.
For those travelling with young children, I always recommend booking a room with a view if possible. Not only does it add a special touch to your stay, but it can also be a delightful experience for your little one. While observation decks and other sightseeing spots may not always hold a toddler’s attention, a good room view can be a source of endless fascination.
The rooms also feature high-tech amenities like tablet-controlled lighting and temperature, and powerful rain showers.

Inviting Spaces
CitizenM Seattle Pioneer Square isn’t just about the rooms, though. The hotel also features a living room-style lobby that’s one of the highlights of the property. This cosy, welcoming space is perfect for working, relaxing, or socialising, and it’s designed to make you feel right at home. It’s filled with comfortable seating areas, interesting decor, and plenty of natural light. Whether you’re looking to catch up on some work, enjoy a quiet moment with a book, or chat with fellow travellers, this space has everything you need.
The hotel’s bar and restaurant are also worth mentioning. Serving a variety of delicious dishes and cocktails, they’re the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring the city. Definitely a nice reward after tackling some of Seattle’s hilly streets.

Practical Tips for Fellow Travellers
If travelling with young ones, I have written some hotel baby proofing tips, but here’s a couple of them:
- Use pillows or rolled up blankets to block bed edges: This simple trick can help create a safe environment for naps. Whether you co-sleep or they usually have their own bed, this can provide some peace of mind. Especially for times when cots aren’t available or would be too cramped.
- Engage with the staff: Don’t hesitate to ask for early check-in or other accommodations if you need them. The staff usually try to help, and it can make a big difference in your overall experience.
- Enjoy the view: If possible, book a room with a view. It adds a special touch to your stay and can be a delightful experience for both you and your little one. There’s something truly magical about waking up to a beautiful view, and it can be a wonderful way to start your day.
