Description
Gaudí’s Geometrics was photographed during a fleeting September stop in Barcelona, as Kaydes and I made our way to Paris. Standing before the Sagrada Família, I couldn’t help but get lost in its hypnotic patterns.
Construction on the Sagrada Família began in 1882 and has stretched across generations, with Gaudí devoting much of his life to its design. Today, the basilica is in its final stages of completion. Its long-awaited finish is anticipated within the next few years – a century after Gaudí’s passing!
This close-up captures the facade’s breathtaking geometry: delicate floral motifs, sculpted saints, and Gaudí’s signature play between organic curves and sharp lines. The mid-September warmth gave the stone a soft glow, making each starburst window feel almost alive.
