My Hopes & Goals For 2023

Sparklers at NYE

Happy New Year, and Hello 2023!

It’s the time when many people review their past 365 days, and make new resolutions, intentions and goals for the next year. While I don’t normally make many, if any.. In 2023, I want for more, and I want to see how I go on my goals in the year.

I hope everyone has an amazing 2023, with lots of dream fulfilment and happiness! These are my hopes and goals:

  1. Aim to post here at-least once a week.  I’ve been running this blog since 2015, mainly so that I could write about my travels around South America. I’ve actually switched platforms multiple times since then, trying to find the right groove for it and me. I’ve tried WordPress, Weebly, Squarespace, only to land back on WordPress, as I now find it easier to navigate. Writing on here has become especially meaningful with the addition of my daughter. Maybe a tad morbid, but I like that she’ll have my stories and memories to enjoy reading. 🙈😂 Anyway, I’m aiming to post once a week, covering my day to day life, past and future travels, and the occasional guest post too.
  2. Manifesting. When I came back to Alice Springs last year, I was invited along to a Ladies Day Races event. I got chatting to a lovely woman there, and I mentioned that I had always wanted to work in a bank. A couple of days later she got in touch with me. She was unbeknownst to me, a bank’s Branch Manager, and would like me to apply for an upcoming role! It really felt like the universe worked its magic for me, and I’ve been in that job for 6 months today! So to continue that flow into 2023, I’ve joined up to a 21 day Manifesting Challenge, and it’s already coming into fruition! 🙌🏻
  3. Online shop. I’ve wanted to sell some of my great photos for so long! While not a professional photographer, I have travelled around and gotten fantastic shots here and there. After being intimidated/procrastinating for a while, I’ve finally set up an online shop page, and it’s now live. I’ve hidden it under my ‘about’ tab in the menu, as I’m still figuring it out how it works. An example of this – I don’t want it live yet lol. But I have most of it going well now, so I’ll move it to the main part of the main menu when I’m ready.
  4. Take more photos of myself. I know that sounds vain, but I don’t really have too many photos of myself. I have a handful from 2022 that I’ve kept and like enough. As a bit of a confidence boost to me, I got injectables in my crows feet in October and loved being less wrinkled there! But I do want to work on accepting my face more as it ages, and work on my smile at the dentists (I feel vulnerable just to type that!).
  5. Sleep. In the same vein as above, I would like to look less haggard from sleep deprivation. My bad sleep hygiene has mostly nothing to do with Kaydence – she’s a great 11/12hr sleeper! So I need to retrain my brain to go to sleep earlier, rather than get excited that she’s asleep and be on my phone until midnight!
  6. Save more money. I’ve always been more of a spender than a saver, but the tables finally turned on that! I absolutely love to save money, and see it grow etc. In this goal, I have smaller goals, like saving for a trip later next month, and in September possibly. It depends on Kaydence’s health (ie her neutropenia) and work, but they would be nice to do before she turns 2 in October, as she’s free until then!
  7. Making a Festo and Theo book. Anyone that knows me, knows I absolutely love my cats. Festo unfortunately died last year which was hugely sad and impactful, as he was so unique and wonderful. In memory of him, and tribute to our other cat Theodore, I want to create an early reader book for her. Festo was like a dog, so I thought that would be a good storyline for one, and then I might write another for when I took them to the beach etc. I’m hoping to have a family member illustrate, so that it is kept in the family. Depending on what other people think of the book/s, I might get more printed, and add them to my shop.
  8. Drive! To be honest, this is another ‘because of Kaydence’ goal! I don’t have the drive 😂 to do it for myself as I’m happy to walk/bus/uber/etc, but I do for her. If she needs to go somewhere urgently, or be dropped off at school in the future, then I’ld like to do that. It does slightly scare me though.. even now I’m not sure exactly why? Maybe because the thought of crashing?! I need to change my thoughts and manifest different thoughts for that! I like the thought of having a NT drivers license.. that’s a good motivation for me.

So 2023, watch out and see me fulfil some goals! 🤞🏻🙌🏻
